Who The Fuck Are... The Raconteurs?

Supergroups were supposed to be a concept of days gone by. Dream line ups of virtuoso musicians teaming up to make drug infused prog bollocks that your Dad claims changed his life. Then along came Audioslave and the ill fated Zwan, and all of a sudden they were back. Indie had the flash in a pan Charlatans/Libertines fuelled The Chavs, but this is the real deal. Ladies and gentlemen, The Raconteurs.

Formed when White Stripes mainman Jack White sat down with good friend Brendan Benson one hot summer, and, just like that, wrote current superhit 'Steady And She Goes', it wasn't long before Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler were added from The Greenhornes.

A first, ultra limited 7" followed at the start of this year, changing hands for silly sums on eBay in the process. Re-released in April, it hit #4 in the singles charts. A full length album, 'Broken Boy Soldiers', hits the shops this week, featuring a whole raft of future classics in waiting.

In Jack's own words, The Raconteurs aren't a side project, they're a new band. They just happen to be the hottest new band in the world today.
