Black Wire - Hung Up

Black Wire - Hung Up

Black Wire equals cool. It's a fairly simple equation that's been scrawled in red lipstick on the walls of toilets up and down the country over the last couple of years. Supporting everyone from Ladytron to The Cribs, sporting some quite frankly gravity defying hair, and producing some of the best sleaze-core art punk in the process, it's a miracle they're still somewhat underground, as these things go.

'Hung Up' may not feature the massive chorus of 'Hard To Love, Easy To Lay', or the anthemic moments pf 'Attack Attack Attack', but what it lacks in obvious moves, it makes up for in sheer greatness. Well hidden hook lines, wonderously underhand bass lines and a shadow dwelling melody, it's as dark as fuck, yet still surprisingly catchy.

With 2006 promising new material, it may be time for Black Wire to start hitting the big time. It's been coming for a while...

'Hung Up' is released as a single through 48 Crash on 15th May 2006.
